[Miningmx] -- THE consolidated Ergo surface operations has put in a strong performance for DRDGOLD during the first quarter for 2012, with promises of further upside as construction on another project starts.

[Mining Weekly] -- South African gold miner DRDGOLD said the consolidation of its Crown and Ergo circuits improved operating efficiencies and enhanced its competitive advantage in accessing and treating tailings material in the Johannesburg area.

Gold miner DRDGOLD on Tuesday reported total gold production of 63,659oz for the quarter ended December 2011, virtually unchanged from 63,562oz in the previous quarter.
