DRD in talks with Aflease

Durban Roodepoort Deep, Limited (DRD) today (21 August 2001) confirmed that the company is involved in discussions with The Afrikander Lease Limited. The company has proposed a scheme of arrangement to acquire all the issued share capital of AFL, the terms of which will be made public once the AFL board has considered the offer. Shareholders will be advised of progress.
