Vision 2028 moves from investment to delivery as DRDGOLD positions for its next phase of growth
Johannesburg, South Africa. 30 September 2026. DRDGOLD Limited (JSE: DRD, A2X: DRD, NYSE: DRD) has published its 2026 annual reporting suite following a year of strong financial performance, significant investment in Vision 2028 and continued progress towards the Group’s next phase of growth.
Key features of FY2026 include:
The suite comprises DRDGOLD’s Annual Integrated Report, Consolidated Annual Financial Statements, separate Company Annual Financial Statements, ESG Summary and Notice of Annual General Meeting for the year ended 30 June 2026. DRDGOLD as a member of the World Gold Council will also publish its first independently assured self-assessment report reflecting progress towards conformance with the World Gold Council’s Responsible Gold Mining Principles. In compliance with the United States federal securities laws, DRDGOLD is expected to file its annual report on Form 20-F (Form 20-F) with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on Friday, 2 October 2026. The Form 20-F may also be accessed electronically from the SEC website and DRDGOLD’s website from or about Friday, 2 October 2026.
Over the past several years, DRDGOLD has invested heavily in the infrastructure needed to increase throughput and production, extend the lives of its operations and create capacity for further growth. FY2026 saw that programme continue to advance, with approximately R5.3 billion invested in Vision 2028 to date and the first major components beginning to come on stream.
Vision 2028 is an approximately R10.0 billion capital programme that will increase the Group’s throughput from around 2.1 million tonnes to 3.0 million tonnes per month, lift annual gold production to approximately 200 000 ounces and extend the lives of Ergo and Far West Gold Recoveries (FWGR) well beyond 2040.
In July, the Daggafontein TSF pipeline was commissioned, followed by first gold from FWGR after commissioning of the DP2 elution circuit and smelt house, early milestones as Vision 2028 moves progressively from construction into operation.
DRDGOLD has continued to fund this investment while preserving the strength of its balance sheet and returning cash to shareholders. Its Nedbank facility remained undrawn during FY2026 and the Group declared a dividend for the 19th consecutive year.
Looking beyond the current investment programme, Chairman Timothy Cumming and CEO Niël Pretorius said: “Vision 2028 is a capital programme with a defined end. What comes after it is a platform for sustained growth: higher throughput, lower capex intensity, the potential for significantly stronger free cash flow, and the infrastructure and expertise needed to support future expansion.”
That growth is closely linked to DRDGOLD’s underlying business model: Reclaim. Restore. Return.
DRDGOLD recovers gold from historic mine tailings while progressively removing and rehabilitating the mine dumps that have remained part of the Witwatersrand landscape for generations. As the Group increases the volume of material it can process, it can recover more gold while removing more legacy mine residue and releasing more land for rehabilitation and future use. To date, DRDGOLD has reprocessed 138 historic tailings deposits and rehabilitated approximately hundreds of hectares of previously sterilised land.
For DRDGOLD, environmental regeneration is not separate from commercial performance; it is built into the way the business creates value. As the report puts it, DRDGOLD has “a sustainable business strategy, rather than a sustainability strategy.”
With Vision 2028 on track, DRDGOLD is also looking beyond the current programme. The Group is assessing opportunities to increase throughput further at FWGR and exploring opportunities to apply its specialist tailings retreatment expertise to gold and copper tailings deposits outside South Africa.
FY2027 will see major Vision 2028 projects move further into commissioning, bringing DRDGOLD closer to its targeted 3.0 million tonnes of monthly throughput and approximately 200,000 ounces of annual gold production.
